I was excited about this as it had a vaguely gay story, was co-written by someone who has written songs for Will Young, and was at a new theatre. What I'd failed to take into account was that the story is really bleak and no amount of songs will take away the fact that a character dies on stage. A wasted opportunity.
The new theatre was nice although now I wonder if I'll ever go again. And the whole nonsense of the naming of the two Southwark Playhouse's doesn't help - the other one is no nearer to Borough than I am, and is actually closer to Elephant. Perhaps a number would have worked better.
