I must have gone to this because I love the film version - singing sailors in New York, what's not to love. I remember nothing about it other than June Whitfield was in it although it must have been a minor role. It was at the London Coliseum and probably my first visit there. The programme doesn't let you forget how fancy it is and actually barely mentions the venue and instead bangs on about English National Opera a lot, which isn't at all welcoming. I wish someone would do a touring version of this because I'd love to see it again.
